Angioni Stefano, Gynaecologist, Italy. Dr. Angioni is a gynaecologist at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the University of Cagliari, Italy (Prof. G.B. Melis) particularly involved on chronic pelvic pain and endometriosis laparoscopic treatment. Dr. Angioni is certified by the Italian society of endoscopy (SEGi) as Tutor from 1998 and as Expert-Examiner from 2005. He is a graduate of the University of Cagliari, and completed is residency in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Modena. Bhanuprasad Buparelia, Gynaecologist, UK. Bhanu Ruparelia is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Worcester, UK. I have special interests in Menopause, Osteoporosis and Pelvic Floor surgery. I innovated the use of Porcine Collagen as implant material for pelvic floor surgery in the UK, a topic on which I have written and presented at many international meetings. I also hold pelvic prolapse repair workshops for senior clinicians, both at Worcester and in Europe. I have experience in committee work, h aving been elected to the Council of the British Menopause Society for 3 terms, each lasting 3 years at a time. I have also sat on committees at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in London. He takes an active part in the International Centre for Endoscopic Surgery -CICE- which was sept up in 1990 by Pr BRUHAT and his team. Diamond Mike, gynaecologist, USA During his time at Vanderbilt University, Yale University, and now Wayne State University, Dr. Diamond has published or has in press over 290 original manuscripts, 115 book and journal chapters, and 500 abstracts as well as written or edited eighteen books or monographs. A large number of these publications have dealt with molecular biological mechanisms of peritoneal healing and adhesion development, as well as studies describing the frequency with which adhesions develop and the complications they cause. He has served as President of the Society of Reproductive Surgeons, as well as on the Board of Directors of the Society of Reproductive Surgeons, the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and the International Society for Gynecologic Endoscopy. He has served as Program Chairman for the annual meeting of the Society for Gynecologic Investigation, Co-Chairman of the Program Committee of the biannual meeting of the International Society for Gynecologic Endoscopy, Program Chairman for the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and Director or Co-Director of four international symposiums on adhesions (in 1989, 1992, 1996, and 1999), as well as serving as Chairman of Postgraduate Courses for the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. Additionally, he is the first recipient of the Kamran S. Moghissi Endowed Chair in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, as well as a 1999 recipient of the Wayne State University Board of Governors Faculty Recognition award for the book he authorized entitled "A Manual of Clinical Laparoscopy" published by Blackwell Scientific Publications in 1998. Finally, he has had six abstracts considered for the Prize Paper of the Annual Meeting of the Society of Reproductive Surgeons, five of which were named the Prize Paper in 1986, 1990, 1998, 2000 and 2003. Dizerega Gere, gynaecologist, USA. Dr. diZerega is Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and Director, Livingston Reproductive Biology Laboratories. After receiving his MD from Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. diZerega completed his ob-gyn residency under Dr. Ted Quilligan at USC followed by a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology at the National Institutes of Health where he worked closely with Dr. Gary Hodgen. Dr. diZerega returned to USC to join the faculty in 1980 and attained a full professorship in 1987. Dr. diZerega has written over 230 peer-reviewed publications, served as editor-in-chief of 5 textbooks, and contributed numerous review articles and chapters. For more than two decades, Dr. diZerega's research has focused primarily on the cause and prevention of post-surgical adhesions, including participation in the development of INTERCEED, INTERGEL, Adept, Repel CV, Oxiplex AP Gel, Oxiplex SP Gel, and PROCEED as well as multiple pharmaceuticals. Among his many awards, Dr. diZerega received the Richard E. Weitzmann Memorial Award from the Endocrine Society in 1983 for his pivotal work on folliculogenesis and was recipient of the Lester T. Hibbard Award for Teacher of the Year from USC Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1995. Dr. diZerega served as Chairman and Organizer of the First and Third International Congress on Pelvic Surgery and Adhesion Prevention. Gomel Victor, gynaecologist, Canada. Dr. Gomel holds the rank of Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Faculty of Medicine, University of British Columbia. As Chairperson over fifteen years, he greatly expanded his Department which attained international recognition. His special research interests lay in gynecological surgery and reproductive medicine, infertility associated with tubal and peritoneal causes, fertility control, reproductive surgery, operative laparoscopy, in vitro fertilization, and reproductive physiology. Peritoneal adhesions and their prevention has been a topic of permanent concern throughout his professional career. He became internationally known for pioneering work in microsurgery and operative laparoscopy. He established an in vitro fertilization (IVF) program in Vancouver in 1981, and achieved the first Canadian IVF birth. He sits on the editorial boards of numerous international scientific journals, has served on Boards of Trustees or Executive Boards of many national and international scientific societies, including among others, the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (previously AFS), the American Association of Gynecologic Endoscopists (AAGL) and the International Society of Gynecologic Endoscopy. He became President of several societies, including the Society of Reproductive Surgeons, the AAGL, and the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society. He was recently appointed to Secretary of the International Society of In Vitro Fertilization. He has been granted numerous honorary memberships and awards of excellence from international scientific societies and universities, including his own Faculty of Medicine. McVeigh Enda, gynaecologist, UK. Enda McVeigh is the Senior Fellow in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at the University of Oxford. He spend 3 years (1994-7) as a member of the Reproductive Medicine team at the Hammersmith Hospital in London with Prof Lord Robert Winston while at the same time caring out research leading to his MPhil. Following this he undertook sub-speciality training in Reproductive Medicine at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford leading to dual accreditation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Reproductive Medicine. He is a Consultant gynaecologist at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and the Medical Director of the Oxford Fertility Unit. Under the guidance of Philippe Koninckx he is now lead gynaecological endoscopic surgeon at he John Radcliffe Hospital. He has organised a number of national meeting in both surgery and reproductive medicine. He is the founder of the Oxford School of Endoscopic Surgery (OXSES) while runs regular training courses including endoscopic cadaveric classes. |

Molinas Roger, gynaecologist, Paraguay . Roger Molinas was born in 1968in Paraguay. In 1991 he graduated with honours as Medical Doctor and in 1998 he finished his specialization in OB&GYN at the National University of Asuncición (UNA, Paraguay). At the Catholic University of Leuven (KUL, Belgium) he obtained a Master (1998-2000) and a PhD (2000-2003) on the field of endoscopic surgery and adhesion formation under the supervision of P.R. Koninckx. He was a fellow in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at the Leuven Institute for Fertility and Embryology (Belgium) and instructor at the Centre for Surgical Technologies (KUL). He is member of the European Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy (ESGE), the American Association of Gynaecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL), the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), the Belgian Society of Reproductive Medicine (BSRM) and the Paraguayan Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (SPGO). The results of his research have been widely published and presented at international meetings, where they received important prizes (AAGL 2001, ESGE 2001, ESHRE 2002, BSRM 2002, PAX 2003, ESHRE 2003, ESGE 2004). Currently he is coordinating scientific activities of the European Academy of Gynaecological Endoscopy and established a Centre for Gynaecological Endoscopy in Paraguay, where he is also developing a Primate Research Centre (Endo Center Paraguay) devoted to endoscopy, adhesions and endometriosis. |
